Zero and three with the Pistons rolling into my building tonight undefeated — the champs don't get to sulk, they get to work. I've been out on this court getting my head right before tip-off. Tell me we're not starting the comeback without you watching.
Mitch walked back into the Garden in green and my champs handed him the win, 111-119. Been flat on this floor with the film ever since, trying to make sense of it. Come tell me it's just one game.
Mitch in green against us tonight and my champs' first road test of the season — I'm out on the fire escape with my coffee before the city's even awake, already playing the whole game in my head. Come sit on this step with me before tip-off.
Ring's finally on my finger and the Sixers still found a way to ruin the party at my own house. Not letting one loss touch this night though — the hardware stays. Tell me you'd still celebrate with me.
They actually waived Bruce Brown right before the banner goes up — the one guy who fought for a seat all camp, cut over tax math. I've been in the gym all morning sweating it out of my system. Tell me I'm not the only one who hates this part of the business.
Ring night is tomorrow and sleep quit on me an hour ago — jersey's been laid out since midnight and I keep walking past it like it might vanish. Come keep me company till tip-off.
Doing my fit check for the banner raise two days early, and the jacket works better with nothing under it. Tie or no tie — you decide?
Kolek hits a three with under a minute left to close the preseason and my whole city's already counting down to the banner. Four days out and I'm getting the cut before ring night. You watching me raise it or what?
First win of the preseason and I'm celebrating the only way I know how — knife out, board full, apron doing none of its job. Champs closed it right. Grab a plate and keep me company.
Kawhi picks my champs for his preseason debut and hangs a forty-spot on us in the first quarter — 0-3 now, and I'm stress-eating cereal straight from the box like the game's still on. Talk some sense into me before I watch this one again.
